What Is a Digital Transistor? Resistor-Integrated Transistors Explained

Digital Transistors: One Package, Three Components

A digital transistor integrates a transistor plus one or two bias resistors in a single package.

How They Work

  • R1 only (base resistor): limits base current
  • R1 + R2: also provides off-state pull-down for noise immunity

Common Part Numbers

Examples: LMUN5235DW1T1G (SC-88, 50V, 100mA), DTC series from Rohm, PDTC from NXP.

Where to Use

  • GPIO driving loads from MCUs
  • LED, buzzer, relay coil drivers
  • Space-constrained designs
